Get Your Freak on This Halloween

Ah, the day of the dead. For most people, Halloween means candy, jack-o-lanterns and trick-or-treating, but for me it’s all about thrills—and not the cheap kind. Over the years my interest in candy has given way to a profound appreciation for freaky parties and sexy costumes, especially on Halloween. That’s why every October 31, you can find me looking devilishly handsome, though barely recognizable, at one of the hottest Halloween bashes on the planet. When it comes to All Hallows’ Day, I spare no expense. It would be a shame to skimp out on the one night where anything goes—we’ll leave the skimping to the ladies. To make sure that you don’t let this opportunity pass you by, I’ve put together a list of the craziest Halloween bashes of 2015.
The XX Fetish & Fantasy Halloween Ball – Las Vegas
If you want to guarantee a killer October 31, head straight for the Vanity Night Club in Las Vegas for the XX Fetish & Fantasy Halloween Ball. The event has been going strong for 20 years and has been named “one of the most outrageous, bizarre and risqué Halloween parties in the country”, “the world’s wildest party”, “the most adult of the adult Halloween events in Vegas”. Enough said.
As this is the 20th anniversary, they’re saying that they’ll be bringing back all the most outrages past performers and will have a new act up every 15 minutes throughout the night. Speaking from experience, VIP tickets are the only way to go. If you manage to score VIP tickets to this event, you can enjoy free drinks and zero restrictions which is, after all, is what Halloween is all about.
3rd Annual Halloween Masquerade Ball Gala—San Francisco
If you’re looking for seduction and elegance this year, the JW Marriot will again be hosting their now famous Masquerade Ball in the Union Square district of San Francisco—think, Eyes Wide Shut but with a better costume designer. I attended this stylish two-day event last year and, if you’re thinking of going, I have three pieces of advice: wear a Venetian mask, book VIP tickets well in advance and don’t bring a date.
Sleep No More’s Inferno: A Celebration of Sin—New York City
If you’ve never been to an event at the McKittrick Hotel, you’ve truly been missing out and All Hollow’s Eve is the best night of the year to experience the insanity. The event promises “two nights of deviant witchcraft” on October 30 & 31. If you’re a sucker for ghosts, haunted buildings and the dark arts, this is the event that’s guaranteed to give you chills.
Throw a Monster Mash—Your Place
Finally, the one way to ensure you’ll be attend the best party of the year is to host it yourself. The best part of throwing your own party is that the style is entirely up to you, be it a fetish party, a masquerade gala or an anything-goes rager. I’ve thrown my share of costume parties, and my best advice is to make sure you’ve got a killer DJ and remember to book a cleaning for the day after.
