The Goal of Baccarat

You’re betting on who will get a higher hand – the Player or the Banker. Alternatively, you can bet that they’ll tie.
After placing a wager between $1 and $500 on one or a combination of the three betting options, hit “Deal,” and the Player and Banker receive two-card hands.
Card Values
The value of each hand will be displayed on the screen, but it’s still helpful to understand how the card values work.
- Aces are worth 1 point.
- Cards 2-9 are worth face value.
- The rest are worth 0.
In baccarat, the value of a hand can never exceed 9 points, so to uphold that rule, any scores that are more than 9 get reduced by eliminating the first digit. For example, if a score adds up to 15, it’s reduced to 5 after removing the first digit.
Drawing Rules for Baccarat
After the initial two-card hands are dealt to the Player and Banker, additional cards may be drawn. If the Player’s hand is 5 or less, the Player draws another card. If the Player’s hand is 6, or 7, the Player stands, at which point the Banker will also stand if her hand is 6, or 7, but will draw if her hand is 5 or less.
In the case of the Player drawing another card, the Banker’s actions will be dictated by a chart found beneath the game screen.
